Based in San Francisco, California, I am an author, teacher and communication coach who specializes in team and leadership development. My work is driven by an interest in people—how we interact and connect through language. It is my privilege to help people express themselves, to show their minds and ideas to the world.

At UC Berkeley, I teach writing and public speaking for international scholars. The brainpower in these classes keeps me honest and sharp—and up to date on communication trends.

In addition to coaching and teaching, as a journalist and contributing writer at the Japan Times, I have learned how to tell a story that is concise and compelling. In December 2024, I am publishing a book of short stories set in Tokyo, Japan, and San Francisco.

Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and the United States, I know the challenges of multicultural work environments. My own immigrant experience shapes my passion to help global professionals to elevate their communication. I’ve had the pleasure of holding webinars and trainings for clients from all over Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe.

I am passionate about levelling the playing field and working with underrepresented groups, ranging from non-native speakers of English to introverts and women in tech. On a daily basis, I coach people from diverse backgrounds and can assess whether communication challenges are based on culture, strategy, content, language, or tone.
